The graph below takes data from basketball reference and determines whether or not a team went over or under their preseason win total set by oddsmakers. Teams like the Spurs and Nuggets have historically outperformed expectations since 2000 when this data first became available. If you placed a bet on the San Antonio Spurs beating their win projection you would have won 17 out of the past 23 seasons.
